The Director of Business Development will lead business development activities that support Transcenta’s overall strategy and corporate objectives. This individual will be responsible for identification and evaluation of business opportunities (including technology platforms), managing in/out-bound transactions including licensing transactions, strategy partnership, research collaborations, co-development, and maintenance of relationship with business partners including alliance management
Work with senior management and internal stakeholders to identify opportunities to maximize the value of internal assets, enhance pipeline and build strong technology platform
Collaborate with cross functional teams including R&D, Finance, and/or legal to perform technology and commercial assessments (including market landscape and competitive intelligence), build valuation models, and conduct benchmark analysis to support deal structuring and partnership discussion
Prepare and maintain internal and external BD related presentations (including financial/deal analyses, corporate or program presentations, opportunity assessments, etc.)
Manage business relationships with business partners, and play a critical role across key BD activities such as response to BD inquiries, attending industry conferences, presenting pitch decks, managing on-going BD communication, leading due diligence and transactions
Coordinate and participate in due diligence processes; Maintains and organizes data rooms
Organize, track, document and report the status of business development projects
Monitor key industry trend and competitive landscape
Build network with key academic institutions, biotech and pharmaceutical companies and investment communities
Establish collaborative relationships and maintain close communication with the senior management team and other key internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on current projects
Travel : 30% travel required, including internationally
Professional Qualifications:
PhD in biological sciences is required; PhD with MBA is preferred.
Knowledge and experience in oncology, immunology and/or cell biology preferred.
5+ year experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, medical device, business consultant, or investment banking, with working knowledge in business development, corporate strategy, finance, and/or commercial planning.
Good working knowledge in drug development and commercialization process (Research, Product Development, Manufacturing, IP, Commercialization)
